**It was a busy week for me last week, with my appointments etc, so by Friday I was "worn out" and my body needed a few days to rest up and that I did. Mostly just doing nothing during the day but resting.**
March 2 - 6, 2017
Nothing has changed with my doses, or times. Still doing CBD and THC 3X a day at 9am, 4pm & bedtime, with the exception at 12pm I take .50ml of THC. The day does of CBD is .25ml and bedtime is .50ml (ratio 30:1). Yes I had been doing the CBD at higher doses during the day at 4X a day, but b/c of the finances I am having to choose to take less of it. The THC ratio is 10:1 and I use .50ml in the daytime and the night time is 4.0ml.
**There is really nothing new on how I am feeling, and that is why I am looping a lot of the days together. On most mornings I am a bit sore and swollen (depends of if I have done something the day before and what it is), but usually by the first dose of Cannabis (yes CBD and THC) it seems to quickly go down. The most important thing I have noticed over the past few weeks, is that I am getting better sleeping at night, not always great, but more great then not, as I had been before, and what I mean by that is I fall asleep fairly quickly and when I get up in the night to use the bathroom I can fall back asleep quickly. This has been happening for the past 2 weeks (into my 3rd week now). Yes there are days I may not sleep as well, but nothing like it has been in the past. I still get hot flashes whether that be from menopause or detoxing?, I'm mot sure. I did read an article about the detoxing, and I can certainly relate to what it said below is what I found.**
The following is an excerpt I found:
Cannabis oil & herxing... feeling worse before feeling better
What is it?
Also known as the "Herxheimer Reaction", this reaction occurs when the body tries to eliminate toxins at a faster rate than they can be properly disposed of. The more toxic one's bodily systems are, the more severe the detoxification, or healing crisis. It is characterized by a temporary increase in symptoms during the cleansing or detox process which may be mild or severe. You may feel worse and therefore conclude that the treatment is not working. But these reactions are instead signs that the treatment is working and that your body is going through the process of cleaning itself of impurities, toxins and imbalances.
Such reactions are temporary and can occur immediately -- or within several days, or even several weeks, of a detox. Symptoms usually pass within 1-3 days, but on rare occasions can last several weeks. If you are suffering from a major illness, the symptoms you experience during the healing crisis may be identical to the disease itself. Sometimes discomfort during the healing crisis is of greater intensity than when you were developing the chronic disease. This may explain why there may be a brief flare-up in one's condition. Often the crisis will come after you feel your very best. Most people feel somewhat ill during the first few days of a cleanse because it is at that point that your body dumps toxins into the blood stream for elimination. With a more serious condition there may be many small crises to go through before the final one is possible. In any case, a cleansing & purifying process is underway, and stored wastes are in a free-flowing state.
Cause:
The healing crisis is the result of every body-system, in concert, working to eliminate waste products through all elimination channels and set the stage for regeneration. The end result: old tissues are replaced with new. When any treatment or cleansing program causes a large scale die-off of bacteria, a significant amount of endotoxins (toxins within the bacteria itself) are released into the body. The more bacteria present, and the stronger their endotoxins, the stronger the cleansing reaction. When any treatment or detox causes the organs of the body (particularly the liver, which is a storehouse of drug and poison residues) to release their stored poisons and toxins, a cleansing reaction may occur. Any program, such as fasting, which causes a rapid breakdown of fat cells (which are a storehouse for toxins), can cause a healing crisis as toxins previously lodged in the fat cells are released into the blood stream.
Symptoms:
The healing crisis will usually bring about past conditions in whatever order the body is capable of handling at that time. People often forget the diseases or injuries they have had in the past, but are usually reminded during the crisis. There are a wide variety of reactions that may manifest during a healing crisis, the most common are:
Increased joint or muscle pain
Diarrhea
Extreme fatigue and/or its opposite, restlessness
Cramps
Headache (believed to be caused by buildup of toxins in the blood)
Aches, Pains
Arthritic flair up
Insomnia
Nausea
Sinus congestion
Fever (usually low grade) and/or chills
Frequent urination and/or urinary tract discharges
Drop in blood pressure
Skin eruptions, including: boils, hives, and rashes.
Cold or flu-like symptoms
Strong emotions: anger, despair, sadness, fear, etc.
Suppressed memories arise
Anxiety
Mood swings
New phobias develop
Easing Your Way Through the Healing Crisis:
Drink plenty of fresh water (especially water), juices, and herbal teas to flush the body of toxins. Some professionals recommend distilled water as the best. Drink from 2 to 4 quarts(liters) per day. This will help flush the toxins out of your system and speed along the detoxification.
If you are feeling fatigued, or sleepy, your body is talking to you, and telling you to rest. Be kind to yourself, and get the rest that you need.
Symptoms frequently disappear immediately after a good bowel movement, use an enema to provide relief.
For other symptoms, meditation, EFT, acupuncture or a good massage might be helpful to speed up the healing process, and reduce the discomfort.
And, on rare occasions, a reduction of the dosage or temporary cessation may be required.
Important: Always ensure your health by having a thorough medical check up: don't assume that if you have any of the above symptoms that you are in a healing crisis: you may not be in a healing process, you may have a medical health problem.
March 7 - 9, 2017
These last few nights I haven't slept well (so for me it was about 3 weeks of a decent sleep for me). Definitely sore and swollen in the mornings & today (9th) the whole day was a right off as I was so tired, to which I had to nap in the morning and afternoon. As well as, had hot flashes on and off all day long.
March 10, 2017
Didn't sleep well, woke up tired, sore, and swollen. My back has been bothering me again - well ongoing since last September - but I have had some good days, maybe on the nights I get a decent sleep??
March 11, 2017
Slept a bit better last night. I did take 4.0ml of the night time THC and 1.0ml of the daytime THC. Along with my sleeping medication and Valium. At this point I was using 2 different brands of THC for sleep so I am now wondering if that is what I need a combination of different products??
March 12, 2017
Slept decent again which is nice. Was able to walk Lucy today, do a bit of gardening as well. Doses and times have not changed, I still do not take the 12pm CBD dose b/c of finances.
**One of the things and I have had this from day 1 is that I can be freezing cold one minute and then hot and sweaty the next. I don't know if it is from menopause or detoxing or what - this is very frustrating. I find when I am moving around or even walking I can get so hot so fast, and then there are times I am just sitting or lying down and boom I get hot**
March 13, 2017
Slept OK last night. I did fall asleep quickly but woke a couple of hours later to use the bathroom. I fell back asleep quickly then getting about 4 1/2 hours of a stretch, however, when I got up this time to use the bathroom it took me an hour to fall back asleep. Even with this I felt some what rested during the day.
March 14, 2017
A decent sleep & was able to fall back asleep fairly quickly when I woke in the night. Not too swollen, and just a bit of pain, mostly in my legs.
March 15 - 19, 2017
Not great sleeps at all, sore and swollen today. No energy.
March 20, 21, & 22, 2017
Decent sleep these nights. Same doses at the same time. Not noticing much in the way of pain or swelling during these dates - warmer weather? I will say on the night of the 22 I obviously slept so good I didn't even hear my husband getting ready for work.
March 23, 2017
An OK sleep but after the night before I did have a lot more energy. Same doses same times. I am again thinking that I must work on getting my sleeping better, as it allows me to have more energy during the day, and it helps heal my body.
March 24, 2017
Not a great sleep, when I woke up the second time I had a hard time falling back asleep, then from about 5:30am I tossed and turned so I just got up. More swollen and sore today.
March 25, 2017
Just an OK sleep. Only got about a 3 hour stretch so I was tired today. I will say that over the past several months I do notice a bit of an improvement with my sleeping.
March 26, 2017
I took a 50mg THC capsule, along with my sleeping aids (this is a new product I am trying). I found it quite strong compared to what I had been taking or maybe it was just because it was a different product. I got a "high" from it but I did sleep OK. That being said I was very tired today and all I wanted to do was nap. I don't know if it was too much THC or not.
March 27 - 30, 2017
Didn't sleep great these nights with the exception of the 29 that was a better sleep.
**I am still taking all of my sleeping aids, which includes my sleeping pills and OTC products**
April 1 - 8, 2017
OK to decent with my sleeping during these days. Same doses and same times. I have however, been tired all week not sure why. I am completely off the Emtec now, I weaned myself off over a period of a few months. I didn't notice anything this time around as I had when I went off the Gabapentin - that being said, maybe this is why I was so tired this week, not sleeping great, and dizzy.
April 9 - 13, 2017
Nothing has really changed. Some nights I sleep better then others. As of April 12 I am strictly using TKMT product. Still a bit swollen and sore in the mornings. I am working on getting the right doses still as to what I need. The new product is a 1:1 of CBD & THC and I take .50ml twice a day, & at night I take a full 1.0ml. I also am using a concentrate of THC and I use a grain of rice - this at night as well.
April 14 - 23, 2017
Again nothing has really changed. I have kept to the same doses as above. I am finding though that I have more stability with my sleeping at night and it is nice!!
April 24 - 30, 2017
I was down at my son's place this week, and I know every time I go I will be sore
because of the amount of stairs there and just in general as I do more there (have to walk my dog & my sons dog). At one point during this week I was so sore that I decided I would take an extra of my pharmaceutical pain medication. Previously I had taken extra Cannabis but I didn't find that it worked well, I am thinking I needed more. However, with the extra pain med I was pain free for about 6 hours, and so that told me I know the medication will work for me if I ever need it too. Keep in mind I have not taken 2 of these pills at once since July 2016. To me I knew I must have been in a lot of pain, but also the extra pill worked as I wasn't sure if they were working or not. This is also the week I had not problems with my back or butt - thinking this was due to where I was sitting during the day and sleeping at night.
May 1 - 15, 2017
After I got home from my son's my back and butt went back to how it was - sore - so I changed things up with where I sit and sleep. I am still sore but it does seem to be a bit better and I had 2 days last week where I was pain free from both. I am using a cannabis topical, maybe its helping? My sleeping is still not too bad, I think I can safely say that I have more good days then bad! Is it perfect no, not yet. I have also stopped taking any extra OTC products for sleeping, so now I just take my sleeping pills (my next medication I'd like to go off, but I know I can't until I can sleep properly for a longer period of days) and of course the cannabis. Last week so beginning May 7 I had to ration my cannabis products (I was waiting for a phone appointment) I will tell you I sure noticed it through out my body, the pain and swelling was there and just in general I felt different.
May 15, 2017
Today I started a 3:1 ratio of CBD and THC taking .50ml twice a day, and then 1.0ml at night, along with a grain size of THC concentrate and I have started using Cannabis Myrcene.
May 16 - 24, 2017
Sleep has been hit and miss for me the past week & I certainly feel it in my body. Having problems still with my back and butt, but on the 24th it was real bad. On Sunday May 21, for some reason I started not to feel well, feeling sick to my stomach with diareah. I felt hot and cold for a few days, so I now wonder if this is what happens when I eat certain foods - sugar? or if its hormonal or if it is just my body releasing toxins as I continue to heal.
May 25 - June 20, 2017
Not too much has changed, sleeping is still hit and miss, but I would like to say its more hit then miss. Still sore and swollen in the mornings, some days more then others. Energy is up and down, which I think is to be expected since my sleeping is still a work in progress. Still have pain in my back and butt (but am getting an MRI done as this has been ongoing for a year now). I have purposely chosen NOT to use more Cannabis for my back, because I feel I need to find out what is causing it to be like it is, if possible. I do know when I take my larger dose of THC at night I feel less pain in that area, but I obvisouly can't take that much during the day or all I will do is sleep - maybe. Still going through hot and cold periods, with the sweats - again I don't know if it is from reducing my pharma medications or if it is hormonal.
**As of June 12, 2017 - I have begun to ween myself off of the Zoplicone - which is my sleeping pill. I just take 1 now at night instead of 2. I also have still not taken any OTC sleeping aids.**
June 22, 2017
Still taking the same doses at same times. I will say the past 2 days I am back to having hot flashes, and being sweaty at times. Now as I have said I am not sure if this if from reducing my pharma medication or hormonal, but plan to make a note of this to see if its monthly or not.
**It has been a year since starting my Cannabis Journey. Am I cured, am I pain free, am I sleeping better, do I have more energy - well the answer is yes and no. What I do know is that I am different with my health then a year ago & that is because of the Cannabis. That was one of the things I wanted when I began this journey. I have been able to reduce a lot of my pharma medication and that was also something I wanted. It has been a very interesting journey thus far, and I look forward to what the future holds for me while I continue to use Cannabis. If this is the best I get, I am very pleased, but I somehow feel it will get even better. I will not go off of it, as I have seen many improvements with me. My IBS alone is pretty much non existent - yes there is the acception of the odd time I do get it. For the Fibro and other issues, although they are there, it does seem to be better. I am glad I was willing to give Cannabis a shot, & I do recommend it. I am not at all sorry I began this journey!!**
**At this point, I will continue to journal about my Cannabis Journey, but I will most likely only update when I notice changes within me, or when I have decreased medication, or if I change products, or doses. So if you don't see daily journal entries that is why. I am sure if you look back you will notice I have already begun this.**
**Cannabis works, it heals, it is good for you, if you can get past the stigma then give it a try, you have nothing to loose**
July 13, 2017
I am no longer taking any prescription sleeping medication or OTC medication. Its just Cannabis.
January 6, 2018
It has been awhile since I have updated on here, & not much has changed. I guess my biggest problem these days is still the hot flashes, they can happen up to 10 times a day, and I don't know if it is hormonal or what. I am still having issues with my back/butt and the muscles. Some days are better then others, of course. In the past week I have started taking Cannabis 4 times a day, in hopes it will help with the pain in my back, I will try this for a while and see what happens and then if need be I will look at possibly using Cannabis Suppositories, that way I can get more Cannabis in me without the "high". I do not get high at all during the day but I know its most likely that I am at my max with it by ingesting it. I use THC at night for my sleeping and although it does help me sleep, it can still take me a while to fall asleep.
In September of last year, I began cutting back the percocet. So over the 3 months I am now only using 1 1/2 percocet, where as before I was using 3 a day. I will continue to decrease these. I also no longer use blood pressure pills. I now only take 3 pharmaceutical medications, from 9. As time goes on I hope to only just be on one, the one for my bladder.
April 5, 2018
The only medication I take now is for my bladder. I am completely off the narcotics - percocet. As well as, the acid reflux medication. Its been about 3 weeks since I have stopped using those. I do feel I have more energy during the day at times, my sleep is hit and miss but honestly its better now then it was even in December 2017. I seem to get about 3-4 hours at a time, sometimes more. Pain wise for the most part I am good. I do still have back issues, but I have chosen to not take as much cannabis so I can see what my trigger it or how its healing. Now that being said, I do take extra if I really, really, need it and I will also say that at night when I get the heavy doses in of Cannabis to sleep, I feel great with NO pain in my back or butt. So this says to me that I most likely need more during the day if I want to have less pain. I am not sure how much more I can ingest but I will bump it up a bit with my dose. If I can't manage that, then I will look into suppositories. I also discovered the other day while helping my husband with my gardening, that on the days I don't do much I am great with the doses I take during the day (I dose 4 times) but if I do work like gardening I am sore after - the fibromyalgia - so that says to me I am not quite at my point for pain relief. Again I am going to try increasing the doses during the day but if I can't I will try the other route.
